Lake Villarrica Decontamination Plan approved!
Great news from our colleagues in Chile!
The Decontamination Plan for Lake Villarrica was approved by the Council of Ministries for Sustainability and Climate Change. The plan proposes several measures, such as a phosphorus emissions standard for the aquaculture sector, a rural sanitation program, and a program for restoration with native vegetation, among others.
In the leadup to this, a huge amount of work was carried out by a regional team and Central team (Nivel Central del Ministerio) of the Ministry of the Environment, as well as public and Indigenous representatives, and supported by GEF-UNEP uPcycle project.
Congratulations from the uPcycle team!
